This shows a ceiling of an entrance hall in an early Edwardian house in South London. Common to most houses in this area is a tessellated tiled design on the floor, and I decided to echo (not reproduce) this on a painted mosaic effect directly above. To save my neck and inconvenience to the client, the design was painted on canvas at ground level in my studio, and when complete was stuck up with a specialist hessian adhesive. |
